ROME — Jefferson will look for some more Game 3 magic Wednesday as it tries to nail down its first-ever baseball state title.
The Dragons will take on Cartersville at State Mutual Stadium, home of the Rome Braves, at 5 p.m. in a winner-take-all showdown. The two teams split a doubleheader on Monday at State Mutual Stadium. Jefferson won the first game 5-4 while the Purple Hurricanes rallied to stay alive with a 9-3 victory in game two.
It will be the third time in the 2018 playoffs that the Dragons have faced a deciding game three. They are 2-0 and beat both Chestatee in the first round and Woodward Academy in the quarterfinals to stay alive.
Cartersville faced one game three in the 2018 playoffs beating Marist in the series clincher in the second round.
