More than 41 million people will travel over the long Memorial Day weekend, according to estimate from AAA.
Spokesman Garrett Townsend says, "We're seeing higher gas prices, no question about that, particularly over the last few weeks, but it doesn't look like that's going to deter travelers from getting on the road."
He adds that you can expect, "...the greatest amount of congestion on the Thursday prior, May 24th."
Townsend says the traffic will again be heavier on the day after the holiday as everyone heads back home.
