HCSO Headquarters to open for community on June 9

By AccessWDUN Staff

While the Hall County Sheriff's Office Headquarters was open for tours after a ribbon cutting in October 2016, Sheriff Gerald Couch thinks it's time to open up the building to the community again.

“In the time following our official start of operations in the new facility, we’ve received ongoing interest from individuals who want to tour it,” Couch said.  “We decided that another open house would offer the community an opportunity to see the building, have some family fun and learn more about the Sheriff’s Office.”

HSCO officials have scheduled the community open house for Saturday, June 9.

In addition to tours, citizens will be able to see the wide array of vehicles representing the various levels of service the agency provides.  Sheriff’s Office representatives will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the functions of the vehicles.

Residents interested in careers with the Sheriff’s Office will also have the opportunity to learn more about the process and available opportunities.

The 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. event will include food, music and fellowship with Hall County’s finest, according to Couch.

The building on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville, approximately 50,000-square-feet, was constructed at a cost of roughly $100 per square-foot. Inmate labor was used for a considerable portion of the finish work.
