GSP charges Illinois man in wreck that claimed life of Jackson County man

The Georgia State Patrol has charged an Illinois man in a fatal two-vehicle wreck in Banks County Tuesday.

A 2017 Dodge Journey driven by Adriatico A. Nestor, 58, of Elgin, Ill., was traveling south on Ga. 52 approaching its intersection with Cargill Drive, when Nestor failed to yield to a 2015 Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle driven by Joseph Edward Embleau, 49, of Jackson County, according to Cpl. Luke Mize of GSP Post 6 in Gainesville.

Mize said Nestor attempted to turn left directly in front of the motorcycle and it struck the passenger side of his Dodge Journey SUV. The SUV came to a controlled rest on Cargill Drive.

After impact, the motorcycle traveled off the west shoulder of Ga. 52 and landed on its right side. Embleau died as a result of the collision.

Nestor was arrested and charged with failure to yield while turning left, and second-degree vehicular homicide, according to Mize.

The wreck was dispatched just after noon.
