Collins praises Trump decision to withdraw from Iran agreement

By AccessWDUN Staff

Rep. Doug Collins of Gainesville released a statement Tuesday afternoon praising President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the so-called Iran Deal.

"I've had grave concerns with the deal from the beginning, and I’ve long said that a nation that promotes terror internationally and against its own people has no business increasing its nuclear capabilities," the Gainesville Republican said. "America has no place giving this bad actor legitimacy or economic relief through such a defective agreement."

Collins went on to say Iran needs to be held accountable for its actions.

"I believe we can work as a country and with our allies to rein in this rogue nation," Collins said.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was enacted by the Obama administration in 2016.
