Hall County reports fourth rabies case of the year

By AccessWDUN Staff
Hall County Animal Control officials say the latest case of rabies in the county has been confirmed in the Sardis area, which is in the northwest quadrant of the county.

A rabid raccoon came into contact with a dog on Smokerise Court in The Chimneys subdivision last Wednesday night. The raccoon was shipped to the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur. The county received notice of the positive rabies test on Friday and released information to the public on Tuesday morning.

Positive alert signs were posted in the neighborhood over the weekend.

This is the fourth rabies case in the county this year.
