Tanner English bests father for SAS win at Duck River

By Series PR

WHEEL, Tenn. - Saturday night’s Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series feature at Duck River Raceway Park proved to be a family battle.

Tanner English and his father Terry English battled side-by-side for 15 of the race’s 40 laps at the Wheel, Tennessee speedway. In the end, it was Tanner English coming away with his first career series victory.

The English’s become the fourth father-son duo to win in Southern All Star Series events, joining Tony and T.J. Reaid, Billy and Billy Moyer, Jr., and Jack and Travis Pennington on that exclusive list.

Brad Skinner took the early lead of the feature, and had moved out to a comfortable lead before transmission woes ended his night.

Tanner English got the edge on a late race restart, as he powered to the lead, and stayed out front the rest of the way to score the win with his father in tow.

Riley Hickman finished in third, with Eric Hickerson in fourth and Jadon Frame in fifth.

Jay Scott, Josh Putnam, Corey Posey, Allen Murrey and Caleb Ashby rounded out the top ten.

The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series returns to action on Saturday, April 28 at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama.
