Oakwood Police Chief Randall Moon has identified the man found shot to death inside a vehicle on Atlanta Highway Monday morning.
Moon said Ronnie Dwayne Keener, 34, was from the Gainesville area.
Investigators are treating the death as a case of murder, according to Moon.
"We are trying to hold onto some details, but it has been ruled a homicide," Moon said.
Keener's body was discovered in the vehicle outside Crest Hill Apartments after residents in the area reported hearing gunshots around 3:40 a.m. Monday.
Hall County Coroner Marion Merck confirmed to AccessWDUN Monday night the victim's body was taken to the Hall County Medical Examiners office for official autopsy.
