The Georgia Department of Transportation will close both lanes of Highway 60 in Suches Friday morning.
After storms last night, DOT spokeswoman Katie Strickland said the road will be closed one mile south of Dockery Lake Road due to drainage structure maintenance after the storm.
Strickland said it was necessary maintenance on the rock culvert underneath the roadway.
A detour will be in place from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. Crews will be on site to assist with the detour.
