Archer fires career-low 66 to lead Nighthawks at Southern Tide Classic

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Logan Archer sits in a four-way tie for first after the first 36 holes of the Southern Tide Classic after firing a career-low 66 in the second round.

The University of North Georgia men's golf team finds themselves in sixth place after the first two rounds.

Archer tied the 18-hole UNG record with his second-round score. The junior from Trussville, Alabama, is tied with Belmont Abbey's Nick Stafford, Limestone's Brett Krekorian and North Greenville's Chase Fisher at three-under-par after jumping 25 spots up the leaderboard in the second round.

Limestone leads the tournament by two strokes over North Greenville, followed by Lincoln Memorial, Mount Olive and Belmont Abbey. UNG is just two strokes behind the Crusaders for the top-five spot.

The Nighthawks will complete the tournament Tuesday with play scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
