Qualifying begins Monday for the General Election primaries in Georgia which will be held May 22.

Hundreds of offices will be up for grabs across the state this year, including those of top elected officials such as governor and lt. governor, as well as members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the state Legislature, school board members, county commissioners, etc.

In Hall County, two county commission seats (those held by Kathy Cooper and Scott Gibbs), three on the county school board (those held by Sam Chapman, Brian Sloan, and Bill Thompson), the office of State Court Solicitor (incumbent Stephanie Woodard) and a State Court Judgeship (incumbent Larry Baldwin) will be on the ballot.

Democratic candidates will qualify with the Hall County Democratic Party at party headquarters on College Avenue.  Republican candidates will qualify at J Lawson & Associates on Queen City Parkway.  Candidates running for non-partisan offices will qualify at the Hall County Elections Office in the government center on Browns Bridge Road.

For more on the elections in Georgia, check with elections officials in each county.  In Hall County, detailed information can be found on the Hall County Elections and Voter Registration website.  Some local information can also be found on the Georgia Secretary of State's website
