Hall County Fire Services has placed first in the Annual “Give Burns the Boot” drive, benefiting the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation with over $64,000 raised.
The event was held on three consecutive Fridays during October. This is the second year HCFS has placed first in the state for donations with over $134,000 raised in two years.
Hall County Fire Services was one of more than 100 fire departments throughout Georgia that participated in the 35th year of "Give Burns The Boot" fund-raiser. This event has raised more than $14 million statewide for the Foundation over the years.
The Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to partner with the fire service and burn care community to provide fire safety and prevention education, support medical facilities, and assist burn survivors in their recovery.
Ten percent of the total collected by each department is returned to the local fire department for fire prevention and safety efforts. This means Hall County Fire Services will receive over $6,400.00 for local fire and life safety education.
