Kemp to visit Gainesville as part of pre-inauguration tour of Georgia

Brian Kemp will be inaugurated as Georgia's next governor on Jan. 14, 2019, but before he's sworn in, he'll take a tour of the state, making nine stops between Jan. 9 and 12. 

Kemp's Georgians First Committee has organized the so-called Regional Celebration Events for the incoming Republican governor. One of the events will be held specifically to honor law enforcement and first responders, while another will pay tribute to Georgia military personnel.

Gainesville is the Northeast Georgia stop on the tour. Kemp will be at the Gainesville Civic Center from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11.
