PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Flowery Branch girls closed out their trip to the Nike Tournament of Champions with a win over West Campus (Calif.) Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Falcons (9-3) finished 2-2 in the national tournament and next will be back in action on Thursday to open defense of their Lanierland Tournament championship.
Flowery Branch opened with an 18-10 first quarter and exploded for a 17-6 second quarter for a 35-16 halftime lead. The Lady Falcons took a 43-33 lead into the fourth quarter but the two teams combined for just four points over the final eight minutes.
Ashley Scott paced Flowery Branch with 13 points. Caroline Wysocki and Ashlee Locke each had 10 points for the Lady Falcons. Ashley Woodroffe chipped in 8 points.
