PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – The East Hall Lady Vikings opened the Beach Bash tournament with a 62-52 win over Walton, Fla. Thursday afternoon.
“We played in a tough, physical battle,” East Hall coach Justin Wheeler said. “After a couple minutes, we were able to make a few shots and get into the flow of the game. We had a strong second and third quarter that opened our lead. I thought our girls competed at a high level that allowed us to win the game.
The Lady Vikings opened the third quarter on a roll, outshooting Walton 21-11 to take a 15-point lead, 46-31.
Ivey Shadburn led the Lady Vikings with 18 points, Maggie Griffin tossed in 10, Ashante Peoples netted 10, Alexis Burce had 8 and Jenny Lopez chipped in 6 points.
East Hall (4-8, 1-3) will play Marianna, Fla. Friday. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
