DAHLONEGA — Greater Atlanta Christian School escaped Lumpkin County Friday night with a 48-42 come-from-behind win iat the Lumpkin County gym.
The Lady Indians led until the middle of the fourth quarter when GAC took its first lead of the game.
“Fatigue set in,” Lumpkin coach David Dowse said. “We made some mental errors down the stretch.”
MacKenzie Pulley paced the Lady Indians finishing with 20 points.
But, free throws were a factor in the Lady Indian fourth-quarter collapse. Lumpkin missed eight free throws - four in the final period.
Lumpkin led 21-20 at the half and 30-27 at the end of the third. GAC began to mount its comeback in the fourth with six Lady Spartans sharing the scoring. GAC outscored Lumpkin 21-12 in the final period.
“Our girls stuck to the plan and played incredibly hard,” Dowse said. “We will be better in the long run for having played in this game.”
Clara White added 11 points for the Lady Indians. MaKenzie Caldwell and Isabel Davenport added 4. Ashlynn Wistoski had 3.
Lumpkin (9-2, 2-2) will travel to Dawson County Tuesday. Tip is 6 p.m.

Lakeview held on to beat Franklin, NC Friday night on the road.
Eliza Snyder scored 22 points and pulled 4 rebounds to lead the Lady Lions.
Jo Snyder netted 12 points, Jackie Allen had 9, Sadie Thrailkill and Maddy Towles chipped in 6 points.
Lakeview (6-2) will host Rabun Gap Tuesday. Game time is 6 p.m.

The Lady Falcons picked up coach Courtney Newton-Gonzalez’s 100th-career win Friday night at home.
Ashley Woodroffe led Flowery Branch with 20 points in the win over Denmark. Caroline Wysocki hit for 15.
The Lady Falcons led 46-11 at the half and held Denmark to 10 points in the second half.
Ashley Scott tossed in 13 points, Ashlee Locke had 11 and Abi Whitaker had 10.
Flowery Branch (7-1) will play Upperman from Tennessee on Dec. 19 in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona.

Chestatee picked up its second-straight Region 7-4A win Friday night at home.
Maggie McNair scored 14 points to lead the Lady War Eagles past West Hall.
Chestatee has won the last three out of four region games.
Emma Easterwood scored 12 points, Nicole Sedwick had 11, Beth Eddins and Christina Garcia chipped in 8.
West Hall (3-6, 0-3 Region 7-4A) was paced by Kinsey Wilson, who had her fifth double-double of the year with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Riley Harkin and Aashaya White each had 8 points.
The Lady War Eagles (7-5, 3-1) will travel to North Hall Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.

Union County opened Region 8-2A play with a convincing win over Elbert County on the road.
Ava Hunter scored 16 points and Andelin Hill had 14 to lead the Lady Panthers past Elbert County.
Brooke Dockery chipped in 10 points for the Lady Panthers.
Union took control early on outscoring Elbert 34-22 in the first half. It was much of the same in the second half, pushing ahead 51-26 at the end of the third.
Elbert outscored Union 14-6 in the fourth quarter but ran out of time.
Union (5-1, 1-0) will host Monticello Saturday. Game time is 2 p.m.
