Caroline Gottsman of Gainesville's Lakeview Academy is among the winners in this year's Middle School Essay Contest sponsored by the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District.
According to the organization's website, the purpose of the contest is to challenge students to think critically about the region’s water resources and to raise awareness for conservation and preservation of water quality and quantity in metro Atlanta.
There are 13 other winners, one of each of the city or county jurisdictions that make up the district.
