Kingsley Owusu Otoo, a senior at Gainesville High School, has been named a recipient of the 2018 Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award.
Otoo was chosen for the award based on his "outstanding service, leadership, and patriotism" within the school and the community, according to a news release from the Gainesville City School System.
He will represent GHS at the next level of competition as he competes for the area award for Hall County. Kingsley along with other local high school winners will be honored at a special reception in which the county winner will be announced and will advance to state-level competition for a chance to win the state title.
