A Cleveland man accused of bank robberies in Clermont and Cornelia has been brought to Hall County to face charges.
On April 5, 2017, Michael Anthony Gordon, 48, allegedly robbed an employee of United Community Bank on Cleveland Highway, making off with $2,059, said Lt. Scott Ware, Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman, in a statement.
"He handed a teller a note, demanding cash ... which he stole during the robbery," said Ware.
Five days later, deputies secured arrest warrants for Gordon on charges of armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
On April 26, 2017, Gordon allegedly struck again, robbing the South State Bank inside the Ingles grocery store in Cornelia.
Gordon was arrested June 1, 2017 in Colorado, and extradited initially to Habersham County, where he was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Tuesday, Gordon has extradited to Hall County, and at last report remained in jail, as no bond had been set for his charges.
