*North Georgia Technical College recently announced Danielle Vaughn, Culinary Arts Instructor from the NGTC Blairsville Campus, as the winner of the 2019 Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction

*Weekly Sautee-Nacoochee Community Association update.

*Piedmont College will present its Annual Service of Lessons and Carols 7:30 p.m., Dec. 7 and 8 at the First Baptist Church of Cornelia. Admission is free.

*Now through New Year's Day, the Hall County Animal Shelter is offering a holiday special on pet adoptions.  All senior dogs (over the age of six) are available for free adoptions, and all large dogs are available at a reduced cost of $25.  In addition, the cost to adopt a kitten is reduced to $25, and adult cat adoptions are free.  The typical adoption fee is $85.

*A reception will be held Dec. 13 for outgoing Dawson County Commissioner Jimmy Hamby.  It will be held in the second-floor assembly room at the county courthouse following the 4:00 commission meeting.
