Kemp to announce transition team today

Governor-elect Brian Kemp is moving forward with the transition to the state's highest office and plans to announce his transition team in Atlanta on Monday morning. 

According to information from the Kemp campaign, members of the Georgians First Committee will be named at a 10 a.m. at the Sloppy Floyd Building in downtown Atlanta. Kemp is to offer brief remarks ahead of the announcement of his team.

Election results were certified on Saturday by acting Secretary of State Robyn Crittenden.

Kemp won 50.22-percent of the vote to Democrat Stacey Abrams 48.83-percent. A total of 54,723 votes separated the two. Libertarian Ted Metz picked up .95-percent of the vote in the contentious governor's race.
