*Get Fit Gainesville Gobble Wobble 2018 to be held Thanksgiving Day in downtown Gainesville will benefit the Gateway Domestic Violence Center and the Gainesville Community Food Pantry.  Click here for details.

*The Forsyth County Animal Shelter is waiving its standard $85 pet adoption fee as part of its Home for the Holidays promotion, which begins Saturday, Nov. 24, and continues through January 2. 

*The Braselton Mayor and City Council recently recognized the graduates of this year's Citizens Academy.  They are Richard Mayberry, Diane Edwards, Billy Edwards, Shelly Givens, Sandy Weinel and Hardy Johnson.

*The Forsyth County Fire Department has begun collecting donated items for its annual Aerial’s House toy collection. The initiative gets its name from a piece of equipment which is used by the Fire Department known as an aerial ladder truck.  New, unwrapped toys for children ages newborn and 18 years old, may be dropped off now through Dec. 15 at any Forsyth County fire station.  Starting in December, donations may also be left under the Christmas tree in the lobby of the Forsyth County Administration Building. 

*Jackson EMC is accepting applications for the annual Walter Harrison Scholarship, which provides $1,000 for academic expenses to students pursuing post-secondary education at Georgia colleges and technical schools. To receive an application, students should contact their school guidance counselor or visit www.jacksonemc.com/walterharrisonscholarship.  

*Toccoa Falls College will be hosting the Aaron Shust “Unto Us” Christmas Concert on Thursday, November 29. Tickets are available at the Toccoa Falls College bookstore, or online at iTickets.com.
