Dahlonega has been named one of the 25 most festive holiday towns in the country by carrentals.com.
The narrative accompanying Dahlonega's listing notes there are historic landmarks, vineyards, boutique clothing stores, and antique shops associated with the town. "But above all else, it has an epic Christmas festival. This town puts up so many Christmas lights you could practically see it from the International Space Station."
Pine Mountain is the only other Georgia town on the list, which includes New York City and San Francisco and much smaller places in between.
