The state is buiding a new Department of Driver Services facility in Gainesville.
Governor Nathan Deal, along with other state officials, were on site for a groundbreaking ceremony for the new building Wednesday morning.
The new facility, which will be built on the same property as the current department on Aviation Boulevard, is expected to be in full operation by this time next year.
