Northeast Georgia Health System CEO receives 'Women Who Mean Business' Award

 Northeast Georgia Health System’s president and CEO is one of this year's recipients of the Atlanta Business Chronicle's Women Who Mean Busines award.

Carol Burrell was recognized recently along with 19 other women who are "driving business in their industries."  Honorees were chosen from more than 350 nominations.

            “Carol is the perfect example of someone who has made a tremendous impact on NGHS, as well as our local and regional community,” said RK Whitehead, chairman of NGHS’ Board of Trustees. “She truly has our mission of ‘improving the health of the community in all we do’ at heart and has led our organization through a variety of transformations that will continue to improve care in Northeast Georgia for years to come.”

            Past Women Who Mean Business honorees include Carol Tomé, CFO and executive vice president of corporate services for The Home Depot; Brenda Fitzgerald, former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; and Teresa White, president of Aflac U.S.
