*The Forsyth County Animal Shelter will participate in the November to Remember pet adoption event hosted by All Pets Emergency & Referral Center (6460 Hwy. 9 North) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3.    Shelter animals will be available for adoption and all animals that find new homes will receive a starter pack with food, leash, collar, and surprises.

*Piedmont College has been ranked the fifth best institution of higher learning in Georgia by Wallet Hub. Ther personal finance website compared nearly 1,000 institutions in a study that gave weighted consideration to costs, financing, and career outcomes.  The college ranked behind Georgia Tech (1), Emory University (2), the University of Georgia (3), Mercer University (4), and ahead of Berry College (6), Spelman College (7), and Georgia College and State University (8).  The complete rankings are posted on the Wallet Hub website.

*The City of Sugar Hill and the Players Guild of Sugar Hill will present "The Importance of Being Earnest" as the inaugural show in the city’s new Eagle Theatre.  The production runs from November 2-November 18. *Faith Community Trunk-N-Treat in Oakwood.  On Oct. 31, four churches (First Baptist of Oakwood, as well as the United Methodist Churches of Oakwood, McEver Road and Flowery Branch), are combining with the city to offer children a safe alternative to going out for treats.   Railroad Street in Oakwood will be closed from 5:30-7:30 for the event.   For more details, call 770-532-3160.
