By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter

Ten area teams advanced to the second round of the 2018 girls state volleyball playoffs in five different classifications.

Five of those teams will get to play host to best 3-of-5 series on Tuesday and Wednesday. Buford in Class 5A, North Hall and Jackson County in Class 3A, Lakeview Academy in Class AA-A Private and Rabun County in Class AA-A Public all will look for home court advantage to propel them into the Elite 8 round.

Buford finished as the state runner-up in 2017 in Class 5A. North Hall lost in the Class 3A semifinals in 2017 falling to eventual state champion Pace Academy. Rabun County lost in the quarterfinals in 2017 in Class 2A.
