DEMOREST — Tied 1-1 with just over five minutes remaining in the second overtime, senior Sarah Weber was able to head a Samantha Ishee corner kick past the Bob Jones goalie to give Piedmont College a 2-1 win on a wet Tuesday night.
The game went into overtime with a 1-1 score as both goals were scored in the second half, roughly 12 minutes apart.
Piedmont would take three shots in the first overtime but failed to register one on cage.
Piedmont once again was the lone team to register a shot in the second overtime, both by Weber. Her first chance was nearly identical to the game winner, as she headed the ball off an Ishee corner kick, but placed it wide.
After a Bob Jones' hand ball, Piedmont was able to play the ball and manage the game winning corner kick set up.
Both teams played to a 0-0 draw in the first half as Piedmont (12-4-1) outshot the Bruins (7-5-2) 10-2.
Natalie Munoz scored her first goal of the season in the 50th minute off an Ishee corner to give Piedmont a 1-0 lead early in the second half.
Ishee delivered the ball as it took a couple of bounces which found Munoz waiting for the easy goal.
The Bruins were able to score off a free kick from close to 40-yads out after goalkeeper Emily Skelton was unable to make the save as the ball squirted past the keeper into the goal.
Skelton finished the game with three saves and played 104:26 minutes.
