HOMER — Traffic on Ga. 51 South between Homer and Lula was impacted for several hours Tuesday afternoon while crews worked to clear an overturned truck.
Banks County Fire/EMS were dispatched at 2:26 p.m. to Ga. 51 South near Ga. 323 for a reported overturned vehicle with injuries, according to Banks County Fire/EMS Chief Steve Nichols.
“Upon arrival they found a tractor-trailer carrying frozen chicken overturned off the roadway,” Nichols said. “No injuries were reported in this accident, but the truck was overturned, and a small fuel leak was present.”
At least one lane of Ga. 51 South was impacted by the clean-up operation for several hours Tuesday.
The wreck happened near Mount Carmel Baptist Church.
