*Riverside Military Academy announces that Dr. Marvin Berkowitz will visit RMA March 14-15.  Dr. Berkowitz is widely regarded as the leading educator in the United States today in the field of character development.

*Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, a 1982 alumnus of the University of North Georgia, is set to be promoted to a four-star general, the highest rank available in a peacetime Army. The promotion follows his selection and Senate confirmation as the next commander of U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command.

*The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia will host a Weekend Wellness Clinic Saturday, February 3 from 9 am- 2:30 pm at the HSNEGA campus, located at 845 West Ridge Road, Gainesville.  In addition to low-cost rabies shots and annual vaccinations, microchipping for cats and dogs as well as flea & tick control products will also be available.

*The City of Suwanee is looking for designers, artists, and creative people in general to submit logo designs for Suwanee Fest 2018.  The deadline for submissions is April 13.

*The Quinlan Visual Arts Center has issued a "call for artists" for its annual Re-hatched and Dain-TEA fundraiser to be held in April in conjunction with Gainesville's Spring Chicken Festival.  Details can be found here.

*The Georgia Association of Water Professionals has presented Forsyth County's Water & Sewer Department with a Gold Award for outstanding operation of a water distribution system as well as a Silver Award for the wastewater collection system.
