CLEVELAND — White County’s Gina Gailey is set to release her first all-original album today, Saturday, Jan. 27.
The CD, entitled “Original Outlaws”, is fresh out of Nashville, Tenn. The project is a year in the making.
Gailey will be headlining a show to celebrate the release this weekend at Hard Rock Cafe in Downtown Atlanta at 7 p.m. Saturday. She will be joined on stage by Jonathan Ingram and Double Wide.
“I’ve been singing as long as I can remember through theater or whatever else I’ve been doing,” Gailey said Friday. “As far as just buckling down and getting serious, the last five or six years is when I said. ‘Ok, I’m either going to do it or I’m not.’”
And that commitment to her music career has paid off.
“The support has been phenomenal from family, friends and local businesses here and I really appreciate it,” Gailey said. “It’s been a fun ride.”
Gailey was nominated for Top Female Country Artist in the GA Music Awards in 2014, and for Georgia-Country Female Artist of the Year in 2013. Additionally, she is a former Northeast Georgia Region Winner for the Colgate Country Showdown, a former Loretta Lynn talent competition finalist, an alternate in the Capitol Records Road to Nashville, and runner-up to Nashville Studio 23 Talent Search.
“I don’t think people realize how much goes into everything that you have to do — photo shoots, logos, color schemes,” Gailey said. “Anything and everything that you can think of goes into putting an album together.”
Gailey credits her sister, D.J. Galbiati, for the graphic design work on the CD cover.
Tickets for Saturday night’s show are $8 in advance (through 4 p.m. Saturday) and can be purchased online at https://www.freshtix.com/events/gina-gailey-w-jonathan-ingram-and-double-wide. After 4 p.m. Saturday, tickets will be available at the door only, if available. Doors open at 6 p.m.
