The deaths of a Winder man and his 3-year-old daughter, whose bodies were found in an Athens hotel room last month, have been ruled murder-suicide, according to Athens-Clarke County police.
Police department spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez confirmed toxicology tests are still being performed on the bodies of Mark Coronado, 49, and his daughter Adalynn, but investigators think the father gave the girl an overdose of medication. They are unsure at this point what the cause of death for Coronado might be, although his body appeared to have suffered from physical trauma.
The bodies were found in a room at the Hampton Inn on West Broad Street in Athens on Dec. 23, 2017.
