Gainesville, Forsyth Co. school districts named to this year's Advanced Placement District Honor Roll

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

Gainesville High School and the Gainesville City School District have been named to the 8th annual AP (Advanced Placement) District Honor Roll.  The Forsyth County School System also made the list.

The systems are two of only four districts in Georgia earning this distinction this year.  The others are Jasper County Schools and Greene County Schools.

According to a posting in the Gainesville School System's latest newsletter, the AP District Honor Roll recognizes school districts committed to increasing access to AP for underrepresented students while simultaneously maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher.

Inclusion on the Honor Roll distinction is based on examination of three years of AP data from 2015 to 2017 that meet specific criteria.
