GAINESVILLE -- The Hall County Commission has appointed a new member to the Gainesville Hall Metropolitan Planning Organization.

Heather Taylor was unanimously approved by the commission at their Thursday meeting to fill the vacant seat previously held by Wayne Stradley. Taylor was nominated by District 2 Commissioner Billy Powell who said he felt she had many qualities that would serve her well on the committee.

"I've known her for quite a numer of years and she has a real collaborative work ethic," Powell said. "She's very thorough, very detail oriented."

Powell said Taylor has a background in real estate. She will fulfill the remainder of Stradley's term, which will run until June 30, 2018.

"I think she will be a real asset to the committee," Powell said.
