UNG women's golf breaks 36-hole record at Battle at Old South

HILTON HEAD, S.C. — Jordyn Sims finished at even-par 144, breaking the individual 36-hole record, as the University of North Georgia finished the Battle at Old South with a record-breaking 611 Sunday.

SCAD-Savannah won the tournament with a six-over-par 582.

The Lady Nighthawks finished in ninth place overall, breaking the previous school record for 36 holes by nine strokes. Sims finished tied for third place individually, four strokes behind St. Leo's Amanda Jakobsson.

Behind SCAD-Savannah in second place was St. Leo, followed by Florida Southern, Lee and Wingate rounding out the top five. Flagler led the Peach Belt schools in the tournament, finishing in sixth place.

The Lady Nighthawks will next compete in the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, hosted by Catawba, on October 9 and 10. The tournament will be played at the Country Club of Salisbury in North Carolina.
