GAINESVILLE — The Lakeview Academy football team notched its first region victory of the season on Friday, knocking off Providence Christian 35-14 in Gainesville.
The Lions (2-2, 1-2 Region 8-A) did so with relative ease -- thanks in large part to quarterback Alec Bornhorst, who totalled four of Lakeview's five touchdowns.
Bornhorst hooked up with JD Roark and KJ Millwood (twice) for touchdown passes and added a scoring run of his own, as the Lions stormed ahead 35-7 at the half.
Dillon Knepp also scored on a touchdown run for Lakeview.
The Lions will travel to Athens Christian for another key region contest next week.
