Forsyth County 'mourning the loss of this special lady' killed by tree during Irma

A Forsyth County woman is dead after authorities said a tree fell on her Monday afternoon as Tropical Storm Irma came through.

Forsyth County first responders responded to the call around 5:36 p.m. on Shadburn Road in North Forsyth, where a tree had fallen on a car in a private driveway, said Deputy Doug Rainwater, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Nancy Eason, 67, of Cumming was fatally injured in the accident.

"Mrs. Eason was a well-known and respected resident and was a retired court reporter who worked for both the Forsyth and Cherokee judicial systems for many years," said Rainwater in a statement.

"The entire Forsyth County community is mourning the loss of this special lady."

The driver of the car, Eason's husband Mike Eason, suffered minor injuries.

Nancy Eason, a retired court reporter, worked for the Forsyth and Cherokee county judicial systems for many years. Mike Eason is a retired Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agent and served as chief of the Cumming Police Department from 2005 to 2009.
