FLOWERY BRANCH — The Flowery Branch girls volleyball team swept Habersham Central Tuesday night in a best-of-five match.
The Lady Falcons (9-2) knocked off the Lady Raiders 25-11, 25-17, 25-17 led by senior libero Ellie Luciani, who had 20 digs and 3 assists. Junior outside hitter Ashley Scott had 5 kills, 4 aces, and 16 digs.
Junior right side Phoebe Hammond had 8 kills, 3 aces, 2 assists, and 1 block assist and junior setter Oriah Ware added 22 assists, 1 ace, and 1 kill for Flowery Branch.
The Lady Falcons next will play host to Chestatee on Thursday.
NORTH HALL HOLDS OFF GAINESVILLE
North Hall rallied from a set down to beat Gainesville 3-1 at the North Hall gym.
Gainesville opened with a 25-19 first set win but the Lady Trojans stormed back to take the next three sets 25-12, 25-15, and 25-16 to earn the win.
Lily Paschall had 30 assists, 4 aces, a 6 point service run, 4 kills, and 11 digs to lead North Hall. Caroline Brady had a 10 point service run, 2 aces, 3 kills, 11 digs, Melissa DeVerter adeed 13 kills, 5 blocks, and 9 digs, and Autumn Tucker contributed with 12 kills and 7 digs for the Lady Trojans.
Lena Strickland had 24 digs, Madison Brock had 6 kills and 12 digs, and Maci Gillespie had 7 digs for North Hall.
Gainesville was paced by Savannah Roys who had 9 kills, 2 blocks, 11 assists, and 23 digs for the match. Camille Holcomb had 2 aces and 10 digs, Isabella Appling added 2 aces, 14 digs, and 3 assists, and Ansley Turner had 7 kills and 9 assists for the Lady Red Elephants.
Sadie Roach had 4 kills, Ashley Filson had 9 digs, Anna Wylie had 5 kills an 2 blocks, Abby Alexander had 4 kills and 1 block, and Camille Calkins had 1 kill and 1 block for Gainesville.
North Hall next will play host to Union County and Jefferson on Tuesday.
