Incumbent mayors, council members in many Hall County municipalities face challengers in Nov. elections

Several long-time incumbent council members and mayors are facing opponents in the upcoming municipal elections in Hall County. Qualifying for some of the cities ended on Wednesday, while other municipalities had qualifying periods that lasted through Friday.

The mayors of Clermont, Flowery Branch and Lula each face challenges for their offices this year. Some incumbent council members in Buford, Flowery Branch, Gainesville and Oakwood also are being challenged. 

The list of candidates for municipal elections in cities in Hall County follows:

 

*Braselton (portions of which are also in Jackson, Barrow and Gwinnett counties):

Mayor - Bill Orr (I)

District 2 City Council - Peggy B. Slappey (I)

District 4 City Council - Robert Clark, Hardy Johnson

 

*Buford (portions of which are also in Gwinnett County):

Commission Post 2 - Chris Burge (I), Gary A. Ingram

Commission Post 3 - Brad Weeks

School Board Post - Pat Pirkle (I)

School Board Post - Bruce Fricks (I)

 

*Clermont:

*Flowery Branch:
