The Gainesville City School System has been selected for the Fuel Up To Play 60 – Atlanta Falcons Hometown Grant for the 2017-2018 school year.
The Falcons and Southeast United Dairy Industry Association, Inc. partner through Fuel Up to Play 60 to build stronger relationships with local schools while helping kids and communities.
Through the Hometown Grants program, the Falcons provide $10,000 to help school districts or individual schools facilitate sustainable physical activity and healthy eating initiatives, according to a press release from the city school system. The grant awarded to the Gainesville City School System will support school nutrition and physical activity initiatives for the GCSS School Nutrition Program and New Holland Knowledge Academy.
A special event hosted by the Falcons, SUDIA, and FUTP60 will be held on September 26 at 10:00 at New Holland Knowledge Academy.
