UNG baseball players continue success on the field in summer leagues

Fresh off a run to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship, many University of North Georgia baseball players continued their seasons in summer leagues throughout the southeast. Today, we take a look throughout the summer leagues and the professionals to check in on how the summer has been going for these players.

North Georgia has four players playing professionally, while nine returning players and three incoming players are competing in summer leagues.

PROFESSIONALS
Brandon Agar - Great Falls Voyagers
Agar has had a great start to the 2017 season, posting a 2-1 record in seven starts. He has struck out 19 batters to just six walks with a 4.31 ERA in 39.2 innings of work on the mound.

Connor Hoover - Arizona League Mariners
After getting drafted in the 21st round by Seattle, Hoover immediately jumped into play and has made a huge impact. In addition to his .297 batting average, he has three doubles, a triple, a homerun and eight runs batted in. He has also posted a .545 on-base percentage.

Chris Rearick - Tulsa Drillers
Rearick has been in the pros since he was drafted by Tampa Bay back in 2010. This year, Rearick is 0-1 in five starts for Tulsa. He has 19 strikeouts over 23.1 innings of work.

Sam Tidaback - Boise Hawks
Tidaback has had a great start to 2017 behind and at the plate. He is currently hitting .314 with eight runs scored. He also had a double, three homers and eight RBI.

RETURNING PLAYERS
Kyler Allen - Florida Collegiate Baseball League - DeLand Suns
Playing in half of the Suns' games, Allen is currently hitting .152 with three runs scored. He has recorded two doubles and five RBI at the plate as well.

Logan Burt - Sunbelt Baseball League - Norcross Astros
In four relief appearances, Burt has been a strikeout machine, recording 14 strikeouts in 9.2 innings of work to just two walks. He has recorded a save and a 4.65 ERA.

Connor Corbitt - Valley Baseball League - New Market Rebels
Corbitt has continued his success from the 2017 season by hitting .322 in VBL action this year. He has eight doubles, two homers, 22 runs scored and 21 RBI.

Jake Howard - Coastal Plain League - Savannah Bananas
Howard is another Nighthawk that is hitting over .300 in summer league play. Hitting .320 at the plate, he has also notched two doubles and six RBI.

Kyle Luigs - Valley Baseball League - New Market Rebels
In six appearances, five of which were starts, Luigs is 1-2 with a 2.05 ERA. Luigs has struck out 19 batters over 29.1 innings on the mound.

William Mapes - Sunbelt Baseball League - Alpharetta Braves
Mapes has found his way onto the base paths quite a lot this summer. Currently, he is hitting .265 with 10 runs scored, two doubles, a triple and three RBI.

Parker Morrison - Sunbelt Baseball League - Alpharetta Braves
Morrison has been used mostly in relief appearances for Alpharetta, but he does have two starts in his seven appearances this summer. He has 20 strikeouts to just seven walks in 15.2 innings pitched.

Andres Perez - Coastal Plain League - Lexington County Blowfish
In 17 games, Perez is hitting .154 with four runs scored, a homer and six RBI. He has committed just one error in 120 chances behind the plate this summer for the Blowfish.

Joshua Profit - Sunbelt Baseball League - Norcross Astros
Profit is using his quickness on the bases to help the Astros this summer, legging out two triples so far. He his hitting .235 with three runs scored, six RBI and is 1-for-2 in stolen bases.

INCOMING PLAYERS
Cade Heil - Sunbelt Baseball League - Atlanta Crackers
Heil has been used both to pitch and hit for Atlanta this summer. In his one appearance on the mound, he recorded a save for the Crackers. The incoming freshman is currently hitting .190 with two runs scored, a double and three RBI.

Chase Sudduth - Valley Baseball League - New Market Rebels
Playing alongside teammates Corbitt and Luigs, Sudduth is giving Nighthawk fans a lot to be excited about next season when he takes the field for UNG. He is currently hitting .326 with 29 runs scored, nine doubles, a triple, two homers and 25 RBI.

Crews Taylor - Sunbelt Baseball League - Gwinnett Tide
The incoming freshman has been huge at the plate for Gwinnett, hitting .250 with five doubles. He also has five RBI and eight runs scored.
