With $1,000 on the line for the win, David Darnell charged to the front of the Mini-Stock field, and went on to record the win Friday night in the special Mini-Stock Madness race at Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, South Carolina.
It marks the fifth feature victory of the season for the Travelers Rest, South Carolina driver, who currently leads the division points chase by 33 markers over Jeffrey Kummer, who finished 15th Friday night.
Darnell held off B.J. Thrasher for the win in the 40-lap special event, with Chad Campbell in third, Bryan Mitchell in fourth, and Brad Burnett in fifth.
Ben Kay, Bobby Brock, Trevor Sanders, Chris Whitfield and Chuck Mitchell rounded out the top ten.
In other action, Chuck Mitchell took the victory in the BM Modifieds feature, with Will Ragsdale in second, Austin Northcutt in third, Maxx Porter in fourth, and Brandon Segars in fifth.
Billy Brown was the winner in the Renegades feature. Chad Watt, Jonathan Ragsdale, Shane Brown and David Whitaker rounded out the top five.
Michael Womack recorded the victory in the U.S. Legends feature, with Justin Ashley second, Johnny Dressler third, Lee Jordan fourth, and Karl Moberg fifth.
Features for the Super Limiteds and Mini-Stocks were rained out, and will be made up at a later event.
Anderson Motor Speedway returns to action on Friday, June 30, featuring racing in the Asphalt Late Model Stock, Super Limited, BM Modified, Renegade, US Legends, and Front Wheel Drive divisions.
