Buford sets qualifying dates, fees for November elections

Buford commissioners this week set the qualifying dates for the municipal elections, which will be held Nov. 7.

Qualifying opens at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21 and runs through 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, City Clerk Kim Wolfe confirmed.

There are two commission posts and two school board posts up for election this year.

Commission posts two and three, currently held by Chris Burge and Michael Smith, respectively, are up for grabs, along with the school board posts currently held by Pat Pirkle and Bruce Fricks.

Qualifying fees are $35, according to Wolfe.

Commissioners approved the qualifying dates at their voting session Monday evening.
