For the 25th year in a row, Hall County Financial Services has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for Fiscal Year 2016.
According to a statement from Hall County government officials, the designation is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
"It is a privilege to represent an organization that has carried this honor for a quarter of a century," said Zach Propes, director of Hall County Financial Services.
"The intentional and diligent efforts of all parties coming together to produce a high quality and timely CAFR speaks volumes for our organization, and I sincerely commend the hard work and sacrifice of all those involved in putting it together."
The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
