Hall County Government was recently recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy for its efforts to reduce energy use, specifically at the Courthouse Annex.
Thel County recently installed energy efficient lighting and HVAC equipment in the building, reducing energy use by 47 percent and recognizing a cost savings of $30,000.
As part of the retrofits, Hall County also integrated new sensors, controls and toilet exhaust energy recovery.
The County was featured during the Better Building Challenge/Department of Energy Annual Conference in Washington last month.
