Gainesville Parks & Recreation officials say that "rain or shine," 1500 butterflies will be released at 3:00 this afternoon at Wilshire Trails Park.
They add that commemorative t-shirts will be available for purchase but some aspects of the annual event have been scrapped because of the weather.
The planned shuttle service and concessions will not be available.
