Playoff soccer: Vikings storm into quarterfinals with 6-1 road win

By AccessWDUN Staff

CORDELE — Don't look now, but here comes the East Hall boys soccer team again.

The Vikings stormed through the second round of the state playoffs with a 6-1 win at Crisp County on Wednesday. And after finishing as Class AAA runners-up a season ago, the Vikings are beginning to play very much like a team on a mission.

East Hall will also get a home match in the quarterfinal round.

The second-seeded Vikings (16-4) won a coin toss with fellow second seed and quarterfinal foe Tatnall County on Wednesday night, meaning the third round contest will take place in Rabbittown, kickoff time to be announced.

Certainly Tatnall will be wary of an East Hall team firing on all cylinders.

Sergio Turcios helped fire the second round win, scoring three goals, while Brandon Callahan added two strikes. Freddy Rebollar also bagged one goal, while Carlos Castrejon provided two assists.

Johan Rodriguez produced three saves in goal for East Hall.
