A total of three students from Gainesville High School and Lakeview Academy have been named finalists for the 2017 Governor's Honors Program (GHP).
An official with the Gainesville School System said Grace O'Keefe is a finalist in the area of Communicative Arts.
Meanwhile, Lakeview Academy announced in a Tuesday morning press statement that Mona Abboud was named a finalist in the area of Social Studies and Coleman Pethel was named a finalist in the area of Mathematics.
O'Keefe, Abboud and Pethel join 10 students from the Hall County School System who will attend the 54th GHP summer program for talented and gifted high school juniors and seniors.
GHP will take place this year on the campus of Berry College in Rome, Georgia.
