100% of Lanier Tech Dental Hygiene Class passes National Boards on first attempt

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

Members of Lanier Technical College's Dental Hygiene Class of 2017 have all passed the National Board examination on their first attempt.  This is one of three tests that dental hygiene students must pass to become licensed to practice in the profession.

The National Board is a written test composed of 350 questions concerning all aspects of dental hygiene theory and practice. The DHYG Class of 2017 is the 14th class in a row at LTC to have a 100% pass rate on the first attempt.

Lanier Tech is now helping them in their preparations to take the other two tests. The first is the jurisprudence exam for Georgia, and the other is the clinical exam where they are evaluated on how well they can clean teeth on a real patient while meeting specific criteria.
