A look at news from area schools, colleges and universities:
*Dawson County High School junior Bronwynne Hill will spend three weeks abroad this summer after being selected by the Rotary Club of Dawson County as its Rotary Youth Exchange student.
*The Hall County School System came away from the recent state technology competition with eight first-place winners, three second-place, and 12 third-place. Click here for full details.
*Gainesville Middle School students participated in induction ceremonies for Junior Beta Club and the Junior Honor Society recently.
* Lumpkin County High School senior Elaina Landrum is one of ten students statewide who will receive a $1,000 Walter Harrison Scholarship, sponsored by the electric co-ops in Georgia. She was nominated by Jackson EMC.
*The lives and works of one of the most notable British authors and his influential poet wife were discussed recently during in a two-day program called “Love Letters to Jack, Love Letters to God: an Exploration of the Works of Joy Davidman and C.S. Lewis.” It was hosted by Brenau University and Grace Episcopal Church.
*More than 60 cadets at the University of North Georgia were recognized for academic, leadership and military achievement at a March 28 awards ceremony.
